Raw Chocolate Ganache Tart – May’s SABH

Im soooooo excited about this months Sweet Adventures Blog Hop! As the hostess with the mostess this month, I got to choose the theme, and as you guys are aware, I chose raw!

There was a little bit of confusion around the theme, but its something I have been looking in to since going veggie. There really is a whole world out there of food techniques and beliefs that I hadn’t even fathomed.

After watching a raw dessert being made on an episode of Veg, I knew I had to try it. Its looked perfectly fudgy and decadent, but was completely raw, completely vegan, and completely good for you!! :o I KNOW RIGHT?!?!

Ingredients

Base:

175g walnuts
125g almonds
1 tsp salt
200g dates.

Filling:

4 medium sized ripe avocados
150g virgin coconut oil
200g raw cacao powder.
Pinch of salt
8tbs agave nectar (or to taste)

Method

In a food processor, blend the walnuts, almonds, salt and dates until you have a ‘dough’, or until the mix forms a ball.

Press this mixture into the bottom of a springform tin an place in the freezer until needed.

For the filling, blend everything together until smooth, then pour onto the base.

Set in the freezer for 1 hour, or until it’s firm enough to slice up.

That’s it! Its seriously that simple :D
